How much historical data will appear after I connect a Channel?

When you connect Channels to Falcon, we import a certain amount of historical data for you. We call this a backfill. How much we import depends on the network, the type of content, and the Falcon module. Here's an overview of what you can expect.

Note:

Backfilled data differs from Falcon's forward indexing of data. While your Channels are connected to Falcon, we receive live data and we store all of it on our side. In contrast, when performing a backfill, we pull data from the storage of the native networks, which do not store all data equally well. Therefore, the backfilled data might differ from the data Falcon receives in real-time.

Note:

After your Channel gets connected to Falcon, please allow up to 30 minutes for your data to get backfilled.

Measure

For Measure Dashboards, we differentiate between channel-level metrics and post-level metrics. The channel-level metrics give you insights across your entire channel, while post-level metrics are for individual pieces of content. Find out more about the available metrics in our dedicated Measure article.

Channel-level data

Facebook
All available metrics are backfilled for the past 365 days. Demographic data such as age, gender, and location, can only be backfilled if there is data for more than 100 people.
Instagram
Instagram metrics are backfilled for the past 365 days. All metrics are backfilled, except for Fans, Fans by Country, Fans by Age and Gender, and Fans online by hour. Channels with less than a 100 fans cannot be backfilled at all.
LinkedIn
LinkedIn metrics are backfilled for the past 365 days. All metrics are backfilled, except for Fans, and Net New Fans.

Post-level data

Facebook
The last 100 posts are indexed, including all the metrics that Falcon supports for them.
Twitter
All tweets of the past 30 days are indexed in Measure, but metrics on those tweets can only be obtained for any tweet within the last 7 days that is still receiving engagements (such as favourites and retweets). Any tweet that does not receive engagement won't receive backfilled data either.
Instagram
The last 33 posts, excluding Stories, are indexed in Measure. All metrics for those posts will be available.
LinkedIn
All posts from the last 30 days are pulled into Falcon, and all metrics are backfilled for those posts.
