The Measure module is where you can track the performance of all your social media efforts. Save time by collecting data from multiple networks in one place, presented with attractive visualizations. Let’s explore all that Measure offers.
Depending on your User Role in Falcon, you might not have access to part of the Measure module features, such as creating Reports.
What Are Dashboards and Reports?
Within Measure, you can collect your most important metrics in either a Report or a Dashboard. Currently, the Dashboards are gradually replacing the legacy Reports. Both are built on the same concepts:
A Dashboard is an empty canvas that can be filled with so-called Widgets. Each Widget is a customizable container for the metrics of your choice. For example, you could create a ‘Total Reach’ Widget that shows data on the reach of your content for two of your channels. Another Widget might cover interactions such as Comments, Likes, and Shares. Together, these Widgets form a Dashboard. This gives you the flexibility to select, combine, and organize the metrics that fit your specific needs.
Similarly, each Report can be filled with so-called Modules, which can also contain the metrics of your choice.
All Dashboards and Reports will remain available over time. You can use them on a recurring basis by changing the date range that the data should cover. Any Report you create will automatically become available for your colleagues with access to Measure. In contrast, all Dashboards are unique to your account and will not appear for other users.
Dashboards are in most cases the best choice when reporting on the performance of your content. They are fast, reliable, and flexible, with a breadth of features not seen before in Falcon. We recommend adopting them for your primary reporting needs.
Measure Overview section
When you open Measure, you arrive in the Dashboards Overview section. From here, you can view, filter, and access the Dashboards you have created in the past.
The Reports Overview section can be found in the top left ‘Reports’ tab. This overview is similar to the Dashboards one, except for a few additional options for filtering and exporting.
To build a Dashboard, simply click the ‘Create Dashboard’ button in the top right of the Dashboards Overview section. From there, you can either go for one of our handy presets, or you can create an empty Dashboard that you can fill with the Widgets of your own choice. When adding or editing Widgets in your Dashboards, Falcon has a great number of available metrics. Not only can you choose freely from among them, you can also decide exactly how you want to display them by choosing totals, averages, time series, or breakdowns, for example, and by dragging the Widget to your preferred size and position.
Each Dashboard can be exported as either a CSV or as a PDF file. A CSV export will give you the raw data behind your Dashboard, which you can use for further data analysis in software such as Excel. With a PDF export, you get your Dashboard presented as a PDF with the visuals preserved and ready for presentation.
By switching to the Reports tab, you can use the legacy Falcon Reports. We've described their functionality in the rest of this article.
Creating Quick Reports
You can create a new Report by clicking the button on the top right of the overview section. You can choose to create a Report from scratch or select from a ready-made Quick Report template.
The Quick Reports that are currently available include:
- Offers a comprehensive overview of the performance of one of your channels, including both the content posted to that channel as well as on the page or profile itself. This report is available for Instagram and Twitter. Facebook and LinkedIn metrics can be found in Dashboards by creating a Facebook Overview Dashboard or a LinkedIn Overview Dashboard.
- Team Performance
- Shows the performance of users in your team or organization within the Engage module. Service Targets and Business Hours can be set to fine-tune your Reporting.
- Engage Labels
- Evaluates the types of conversations that are trending in Engage through analysis of the labels you have applied.
Creating Custom Reports
Feeling adventurous? Custom Reports allow you to create your own Reports from scratch. You have full control over which modules and metrics to include.
Curious about the available metrics and what they mean? While creating a Custom Report, you get to choose from a list of all available metrics for your chosen channel, including short descriptions.
When creating a Custom Report, it is not always possible to combine all metrics within the same module. In this case, after you have chosen a metric, some others may become unavailable to select. To include those metrics in the same Report, you must create a new module.
If you want to Report at set intervals, you can create a Scheduled Report. All Reports you create can be set up for scheduled Reporting. You can set both the timeframe of the Reporting as well as who should receive them. The Scheduled Reports will automatically arrive in your email at your chosen interval.
Falcon also offers the option to export your Report, or part of a Report, at any time. You can find the export option in each Report, and in each module, at the top right. You can choose to export your data in XLS or CVS format.
