Reconnecting or Refreshing Channels

If you receive a channel disconnect email, telling you that some of your pages are offline, it means that Falcon has lost access to your page(s) and cannot index it until the permissions have been restored. This article will walk you through the steps necessary to restore the connection.

Note:

Only an Administrator or Team Leader is able to reconnect channels, and they must be an Admin of the respective page(s) on the network natively.

Reconnect channels

Before you start, make sure you have the login details ready for the channel you need to update.

  1. From your profile picture go to Setting click on Channels.
  2. At the top, you'll see the networks with disconnected channels. Select the Reconnect icon next to the appropriate network.
  3. If asked if you want to leave the page, click Leave this Page.
  4. If you're not logged into your profile on the native network, you will be prompted to Log in and confirm access or update.
  5. Authorize each of the requests with Okay or Accept. Please do not skip any of these, as Falcon requires all these permissions to offer full functionality.

You'll then be redirected back to Falcon to re-connect the selected channel and resume your social media management activities.

Refreshing already 'connected' channels

Occasionally, you may be asked to refresh the connection for a specific channel even though the channel is not disconnected.

  1. From your profile picture go to Setting and you will land on the Overview page.
  2. Within the 'Add channel' module, select the relevant social network. Even though you have already added your Channel before, it is necessary to add the Channel again. Only if this step is followed, Falcon is able to refresh the connection.
  3. If asked if you want to leave the page, click Leave this Page.
  4. If you're not logged into your profile on the native network, you will be prompted to Log in and confirm access or update.
  5. Authorize each of the requests with Okay or Accept. Do not skip any of these, or you'll run into issues with Falcon.io. You'll then be redirected back to Falcon.
  6. From the presented channels list view, view all 'Connected channels administered by you' by pressing 'show' and select the channel or channels that you wish to refresh the connection for, and finalize the process by pressing the 'Connect Channels' button.
